16 Weeks

24 to go. The past dozen weeks since we found out we were going to be parents have flown by!  I’ve been keep a private journal since finding out, but I decided I’ll do bi-weekly (that’s when I take pics) updates just on how I’m fairing.  The other journals I’m going to keep private for just our little family.

I still just look like I’ve been eating too much, but it’s slowly starting to curve more. I figure in the next few weeks I’ll start looking pregnant to people who don’t know me. 

Weight Gain to Date: 3-3.5 lbs. At my appointment last week I had only gained 2.5 total. I’m sure it’s probably more like 3-3.5 now. I’m supposed to gain 1lb/week for the rest of the 2nd trimester.

Belly Button in or out: In and without my belly button ring. Took it out the weekend of New Years.

Baby Size: Peanut is now the size of an avocado, 4.5 inches long and weighing in at about 3.5 ounces. 

New Developments: Peanut can now hear us talking. Time to watch what we say. 🙂

Cravings: Flaming Hot Cheetos, multi-colored Swedish Fish, and berries. Strange combination I know. Luckily I can control my junk food craving enough to only have a few Cheetos a day.

Food aversions: Tofu, can’t even look at it. Actually thinking about it still makes me gag.

Feeling: I’m ready to say that morning sickness is officially gone! Woohoo. I’m having daily headaches and this week lots of round ligament pain. Must mean my belly is about to pop.

Sleep: Serious insomnia going on. I’m lucky if I get 4-5 hours of sleep every night.

Movement: Nope, not feeling the flutters yet.

Gender: No idea, Josh thinks boy. 27 days until we find out.

Maternity Clothes: I’ve worn one pair of maternity dress pants but more so because they are so comfortable it’s like wearing sweatpants to work. I ordered a pair of maternity jeans because I’m so frustrated with all the pairs I can no longer button. I can wear them with my belly band but it’s just not as comfortable.  Good news though, this morning I found another pair of jeans I can still button. That makes three pairs I can still fit into. Made my entire morning!

What I miss: My favorite pair of jeans and long distance running, both of which are worth giving up (temporarily) for Peanut.
