I have to say when I looked at the picture Josh took this morning I could not believe how much my belly has grown in the past two weeks. Holy cow!
Weight Gain to Date: I think I may have hit double digits…yikes. So last night the gym scale said 10lbs. It was at the end of the day, right after dinner with shoes, iPod and workout clothes on. This morning our scale at home said 7lbs. Granted I was naked and hadn’t eaten yet. So I’m going to guess I’m right around 8-10lbs total gain. Right now I’m on track to gain about 25 lbs total which is right at the low end of the recommended amount of weight to gain for me. I think giving up sweets for Lent will definitely keep me in check.
Belly Button in or out: In. It’s getting a lot more shallow, but I’m confident in saying I have at least a good month before it pops out.
Baby Size: Peanut is now the size of a papaya. She’s about 11 inches and weighs almost 1 pound. At this point everything is in the right place and she just needs to keep getting bigger.
New Developments: Peanut’s lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she’s even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment.
Cravings: Still spicy food. Anything ethnic…Indian, Mexican, Thai. Love it all.
Food aversions: Still tofu. Sometimes chicken. Vegetables. I know that is a bad one. Broccoli, my old standby makes my stomach hurt and gives me gas that could clear a room. Josh appreciates when I don’t eat it. I’m trying to make sure I get at least 1-2 servings iof vegetables a day, but I’m really struggling.
Feeling: Good, though I think I still have some lingering virus from the flu a few weeks back. It’s making me tired and I have a cough I can’t seem to shake. Other than that I’m feeling good.
Sleep: The middle of the night, try not to trip over anything, trips to the bathroom are back…sad. My sleep is also being interrupted by crazy dreams and even Peanut kicking me. She loves to be super active as soon as I lay down and then again around 3 am.
Movement: Now that the bones in Peanut’s little body are hardening, she is kicking and moving with some force! At night Josh and I laugh as we watch my stomach move. It won’t be long before we can tell what body part she’s using to kick/hit me.
Gender: Confirmed again we’re having a girl at the fetal echo. Thank goodness because I just bought that girlie bedding.
Maternity Clothes: I’ve been exclusively maternity for the past few weeks, with the exception of workout clothes, sweatpants and some shirts. I think I could still pull off some of my pre-pregnancy pants but I’m digging the unrestrictive, elastic waisted pants. Only drawback I’m finding is that with my new jeans from Kohl’s, my belly isn’t quite big enough to hold them up in place so I sag a bit. I just pull them up every chance I get.
What I miss: Running, my waistline, lunchmeat. I would love love love a big turkey club.
What I love about pregnancy: People telling me how cute I look. Not going to lie, I love that. Pregnancy is the only time in my life people will tell me my belly looks cute. Feeling and seeing Peanut move. Shopping…I’m so excited to decorate her room!
