As I was casually perusing old blog posts I realized that one year ago today I ran my final long run before the dreadful marathon failure that was Nashville. I thought that run was bad, I had no idea what I was in for in Music City.
I cannot believe it’s been a year already. I feel like that run was just a few months ago. Apparently I am in some sort of time warp which makes the days feel extremely long but the months fly by.
A year later running is a rarity, my waist is about 9 inches larger around and filled with our little girl, rather than worrying about which race I’m training for next, I’m worrying about furniture for the nursery, labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and just everything about becoming a mom.
Not to worry. I know that with dedication there is another last long run before a marathon ahead of me. Actually, my eyes are set on Arizona RNR in January. That may be a lofty goal, but a goal is good to have. I can already picture Josh and Peanut cheering me on. Awe.
