Yesterday may go down as one of the worst days I’ve had in a long time. After a great Saturday, still need to post about that, my work week started early on Sunday morning and went into the evening.
So back to the disaster which was yesterday. I was up at 6 am on the phone with FedEx Freight because they failed to deliver our piece of equipment. That was the first fight of the day. After speaking to a supervisor I was assured that it would arrive by 8:30 am. Once I handled that I was able to get ready for work and head out.
I got to our office to pick up a few videos that I needed for the show. I was happy cruising right along down I-70 right on schedule to arrive at the convention center when my car started doing this odd reving thing. When I pressed the gas my engine just reved up but I was slowing down. Luckily I was able to coast off of the interstate into a 7-Eleven parking lot. My coworker Lisa was nice enough to come get me and take me to the convention center. Nothing like breaking down 9 months pregnant. I called Josh and he had my car towed. We haven’t gotten official word, but it sounds like it’s the transmission which means that I’m not in the market for a new car…awesome. Bad bad timing.
I get to the convention center only to find that my equipment has been damaged in shipping and looks awful. Luckily after some quick fixes we can at least demo but it looks bad. At this point I had to start laughing because otherwise I was going to burst into tears.
The bright spot was our event at the Rockies game went off without a hitch…well except for the 1.5 hour long rain delay. Suite living is the life. I told Josh that’s how I want to attend games from now on.
Can you blame me?
I didn’t stay when they finally resumed the game because I was exhausted. We (Josh game down and got me) made it home without incident. Luckily I was able to take the Escape to work today and tomorrow, but we’ll have to figure out the rest of the week and what we’re going to do about my vehicle situation.
At least I didn’t go into labor!
