Now I know I’ve been out of the game for too long. Asiac has already replaced the 2150’s with 2160’s. While I was running last night I looked down and noticed a nice hole right where my big toe hits the top of my shoe on my right foot. The I realized those are the same shoes I wore when I ran the disasterous race in Nashville. Yeah that was definitely 17 months ago. Whoa.
Today I ordered a new pair of shoes! I was able to find a pair of 2150’s online for $50. Score! They should arrive on my doorstep early next week. Yes. Maybe it’s time for me to get rid of a few of the other pairs I’ve retired over the past few years.
Back to last nights run. It felt amazing! I was finally able to get outside for a nice, fallish feeling run. Though I wore my Garmin, I didn’t look at it until it beeped and told me I had hit the 3 mile mark. My pace was 10 min/miles but I didn’t once even think about walking and I felt like I could have kept going. I probably could have speed up, but I was too busy enjoying the sunset over the mountains and feeling the breezy against my face.
Unfortunately Kirsten is sidelined for this weekend’s race, but she’s going to come to cheer me on and hang with Ella while I run. At least I know I’ll be able to finish it. It won’t be a PR but I’m ok with that. I’m doing it and it’s starting to feel good again.
