Hot and then Cold

Colorado weather is a bit on the kooky side. Yesterday it was a nice 70ish degrees outside and sunny, the day before we set a new record with a high of 80. Today, snow…a whole foot + at my house. When I woke up and looked out the window around 5 this morning I knew fighting traffic to Denver was a no go for me.

The poor trees! It was continued to snow all day. Working from home is great. Favorite things about the snow day today:

Looking like this while working is pefectly acceptable.

I can sport these ridiculous, yet fabulous socks because I don’t have to wear shoes. Yes, I did spend my entire day in my sweatpants.

My office is my family room. My couch is so much more comfortable than my cubicle at the office.

I got to cuddle with this cute little snow bunny.

Her little outfit is wayyyyyyy too big for her but it was the warmest thing we had for her. Looks like it will be quite a while before she’s wearing 6 month size clothes. She was not sure what to think of the snow and probably was wondering why we dressed her up like the kid from A Christmas Story and took her out in the cold.

Had I not actually been working and already had banana cake and black & white cookies, I totally would have whipped up some chocolate chip cookies. After all, aren’t you supposed to bake on days like these?

Tonight I ran an extremely boring 4 miles on the treadmill in the basement. I would have run longer but seriously, the view is awful. We need to get a TV down there.

The weather is supposed to be back in the 60s this weekend so I think I’m going to go ahead and run the Eerie Erie 5k on Saturday. I wonder if I have any old costumes laying around.

What’s your favorite thing about rainy/snow days?
