Postpartum Shape Up Week 9

Stop the presses…something really exciting happened at my weekly weigh-in. Is the anticipation killing you? I thought it might.

What is the exciting thing that happened? I saw a number with a 0 in it. As in 130.6! That means I’m just 0.6 lbs from where I was when I got pregnant and just 2.6 lbs from my goal of reaching my pre-baby vacation weight. I guess that 8 mile run did a body good. Next week I’ll see if I can get Josh to take some progress pics for me.

Last week I ran a total of 17 miles. I think that may be the most I’ve done since having Ella.

Total mileage: 17 miles   Avg. Pace: 9:31 min/miles

This week I’m going to try to get in three good runs plus some cross-training. On what days, I don’t know, for how long, eh, don’t know that either.

Last week I did a great job of sticking to the schedule, but I just know this week is going to be a bear. Work is crazy, Ella has suddenly realized that playing with mommy and daddy, especially in the middle of the night, is way more fun than sleeping and I feel a cold coming on. So instead of getting all upset with myself when I don’t do exactly what I planned on each day, I’m just going to do what I can.

I am going to try to get one more long run in this weekend before the holidays. The goal is going to be 9 miles either Saturday or Sunday. Then I’ll take it back a notch next weekend while my relatives are in town and Josh is not.
