After two days at home with a sick baby I really needed to get out of the house. I guess technically I had been out of the house but Children’s Hospital doesn’t really count as said sick baby was in tow. Not to worry, she’s ok. She’s battling Bronchiolitis caused by RSV. Poor thing was really having to work to breathe – wheezing, rapidly taking breaths – so we took her in per doctors orders. Now on day 7 of being sick, she seems to be getting better but the cough, wheezing and stuffiness are all still there.
Last night after Josh got home I got dressed and headed to the rec center to take my first Cardio Sculpt class and a little me time. I am not much a class person. I have my own little routine I do at the gym. It’s what I know, it’s what I’m comfortable with. As I drove over I was secretly hoping the class would be full and I’d just do my boring old routine. Alas, no such luck.
I was relieved to find that most of the people in the class were newbies too. Phew. Performance anxiety put at ease, silly I know. After 60 mins of non-stop weight involved exercises, I was a sweaty mess and feeling like jello. It was awesome. This morning I am sore. I feel the muscles I’ve been neglecting. I definitely have some muscle rebuilding to do.
So begins my new weekly addition to my routine. Yeay! Can’t wait for next week. Maybe I’ll even get crazy and try out some other classes like kickboxing or Zumba.
