So here’s the thing, I don’t mind cold or snow, I don’t even mind rain. I do however, mind when all three plus wind decide to crash my half marathon. Those shady elements were not invited to my party. It looks as though they are going to show up anyway.
At the start of the race, it should be in the mid-upper 30’s which isn’t so bad. I’m hoping that the rain/snow mix will happen long before I toe the starting line of the Platte River Half Marathon at 9 am. Right now I’m having flashbacks back to Nashville. This race has got to be better than that one.
In addition to the small problem with the weather, it seems by body has decided that it’s time for a spring cold. Right now it’s really my throat that is hurting but I think my sinuses are trying to push my eye balls out of my head. If I get desperate, I’ll load up on cold medicine before the start of the race.
I’ve been feeling good about the race since my awesome run last weekend in Lincoln. A few phantom pains here and there, you know the normal taper tricks your body likes to play on you. Now I just have to figure out what to wear.
