WIAW: Actually from Monday

I’ve never participated in this whole What I Ate Wednesday thing. I was actually frightened at the thought of having pictures of everything I eat in a day. Monday, I tried it out. Monday was easier because it’s my lazy day of the week as far as food goes and I have meetings on Wednesday.

Anyway, here we go:

Unpictured: One graham cracker with scrape of peanut butter and a swig of Newman’s Own Lemonade to get down my prenatal vitamin. I have to eat a little something to not feel nauseated shortly after taking it.

Breakfast

I was feeling like a smoothie for breakfast. I threw a couple handfuls of spinach, about a cup of unsweetened almond milk, handful of strawberries, handful of raspberries and some vanilla whey protein into the blender and tried to blend as quietly as possible as not to wake up Ella or Josh. A smoothie is not a meal in my book, so I ate a Bobo’s Bar too. Those things are calorie dense, 360 in that little bar!

Lunch

Apparently I was still full from the weekend and breakfast. I skipped my morning snack which is a rarity. I was too lazy to pack a real lunch, so Subway it was. I ordered a 6 inch veggie delight on wheat with pepperjack cheese, lettuce (I’m having texture issues with raw spinach), tomatoes, green peppers, onions, cucumbers and banana peppers. For a little extra flavor, a squirt of light mayo and some honey mustard. Baked Lays were a must. I mean come on, it was a veggie sandwich.

Also had some much needed caffeine…I know bad pregnant lady, but sometimes I need it.

Afternoon Snack

I was craving something sweet that one (unpictured) caramel Hershey’s Kiss didn’t satisfy. I wasn’t really hungry yet so I didn’t want my almonds. I had one spoonful of my favorite peanut butter left. Score.

Dinner

I left work later than normal so by the time I got home with Ella it was dinner time. Usually we’d eat chips and salsa upon arrival, but we didn’t want to ruin dinner. Being lazy, we had leftover chili I’d frozen a few months back with some cornbread. I added some avocado and shredded cheddar to spice things up a bit.

After Dinner

About a half hour after dinner I was hungry again. I’m blaming it on the baby. He told me he really needed some cheese and crackers. Enter Kashi Whole Wheat Crackers with extra sharp cheddar. Yes that is some mustard and pepper on half of them. Try it, you’ll like it.

After Run

I made myself run five miles on our home treadmill of torture. Normally I’d have gone to the gym, but it was snowing hard and really cold which almost lead me to crawl in bed and not run at all. After my run I enjoyed some chocolate milk. I wouldn’t usually have it after a short run, but my muscles feel fatigued all the time lately. I figured this would help with recovery.

There it is. Not as scary as I thought. I think I actually ate less than I normally do. Maybe I’ll do this again in a month to compare.
