Our baby boy is a month old already! Just over actually. The past 5 weeks flew by in the blink of an eye.
He now weighs a whopping 10 lbs 4oz and is 21 inches long. We weighed him on our home scale because our appointment was cancelled due to the floods, so I have no idea how accurate it is. I have a hard time believing he could really be that big! I call him my little tank. He just eats and eats. It’s amazing that he’s about the same size Ella was at three months. It is interesting to have two kids on very different ends of the size spectrum.
Anderson is a great baby. He mainly sleeps, eats and poops. For the first two weeks, we wondered if he was ever going to stay awake for more than a few minutes, aside from when he was eating. When week three hit, he seemed to wake up. Long stretches of just checking out the world around him.
He’s fairly mellow, rarely crying unless he’s starving and I’m not already holding him getting ready to feed him. He does however grunt…all the time. I’ve never been around a baby who grunts so much.
He loves hanging out in the Mamaroo which is a relief since Ella hated it. He of course, loves to be held and nap cuddled up with just about an warm body. Sometimes I think he just wants mom. Other people will be holding him and he’ll cry. He is handed back to me and stops. Having milk on tap when requested does earn me a little bit of favoritism.
Anderson is very strong. He has pretty impressive head control and even pushed himself up when he was doing tummy time earlier this week. This is not a picture of that, but his big sister Ella trying to demonstrate tummy time for him on his first go-round.
He also has the strongest legs with a well defined quads. I think he’s going to be a runner. You can’t really see it in these pictures, but he has a little dimple just above his lips on his right side. It is so cute.
I swear he smiled at my the other day, like a real social smile, but Josh thinks I’m crazy. I stand by it being his first smile. He’s pretty expressive:
What else can I share about this month? He’s starting to like baths, loves to pee on daddy and saves to leaky poop diapers for mommy. He definitely not a fan of his car seat, but does like being carried in my Ergo.
A month in an it’s hard to remember life without him in it. I’m amazed at the amount of love my heart is capable of. He absolutely completes our little family.
