What I Ate Wednesday: Pre-Thanksgiving Edition

So it’s the day before Thanksgiving, my favorite day of the year. Who doesn’t love a holiday that revolves around food? This week I’ve tried to be good about not overeating or eating like crap in order to save both of those tasks for tomorrow.

So, without further adieu, here’s what I ate on Tuesday:

(Unpictured)Pumping Snack: Graham crackers with peanut butter and water. I am addicted to this snack. So good.

Breakfast: 3/4 cup rolled oats (because 1/2 cup isn’t going to cut it for me), an apple, a few Craisins and some cinnamon with some hot tea because I was freezing. I’m warming up my taste buds for cranberry sauce and apple pie.

Lunch: I’ve been reading 100 Days of Real Food lately. If you haven’t looked at it you should. That’s where I got the idea for my Tupperware container and these cute little muffin cups.

In my ‘lunchbox’ which Josh makes fun of me for I had: two corn tortillas, leftover ground beef, refried black beans, lettuce, salsa and some cheese. The tacos were delicious.

Of course I also needed dessert.

This held me over until I got home, at which point I was ready to chew my arm off. So I had a banana with peanut butter as I nursed Anderson.

Once Josh got home, it was leftovers again for dinner. Being the week of Thanksgiving, I had no desire to make a bunch of food. We had stroganoff which I made using some elk meat. I was a bit nervous since I’m not much of a big game eater, but I couldn’t even tell. By the way, it looks like vomit in this picture, but actually tasted pretty good. I added some greenery to my plate since I hadn’t had much throughout the day.

I went for a run after the kids were down for the night. When I got home I had a handful of Craisin Trail Mix and a couple pretzels. I have been so hungry since my eight mile run on Sunday.

I’m happy to report, I’m down to 129-130 lbs. I’m within about 2 lbs of my pre-pregnancy weight and fit into another pair of jeans this morning. Woohoo. I think this effort to control my portion sizes and sweet treats is working! Tomorrow being an exception.

So extremely excited for Turkey Day.
